Anavar is used for promoting weight gain, in combination with other medicines, after weight loss due to major surgery, recurring infections, serious injury, or unknown reasons. Anavar is also used to offset certain side effects of long-term steroid use (protein catabolism), or to relieve bone pain due to osteoarthritis. Oxandrolone may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Oxandrolone is an anabolic steroid. Anavar works by helping the body to produce testosterone, which helps build muscle mass.
In order for Oxandrolone to work properly, it is important that you follow a diet high in proteins and calories. If you have any questions about this, check with your health care professional.
The dose of Anavar will be different for different patients. Follow your doctor’s orders or the directions on the label. The following information includes only the average doses of Anavar. If your dose is different, do not change it unless your doctor tells you to do so.
The number of tablets that you take depends on the patient. Also, the number of doses you take each day, the time allowed between doses, and the length of time you take the medicine depend on the medical problem for which you are taking the anabolic steroid.
Adults – The response of individuals to anabolic steroids varies. The daily adult dosage is 2.5 mg to 20 mg given in 2 to 4 divided doses. The desired response may be achieved with as little as 2.5 mg or as much as 20 mg daily. A course of therapy of 2 to 4 weeks is usually adequate. This may be repeated intermittently as indicated.
Children – For children the total daily dosage of Oxandrolone Tablets is ≤0.1 mg per kilogram body weight or ≤0.045 mg per pound of body weight. This may be repeated intermittently as indicated.
Geriatric – Recommended dose for geriatric patients is 5 mg bid.
Missed dose of Anavar:
If you miss a dose of this medicine and your dosing schedule is:
One dose a day – Take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if you do not remember it until the next day, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.
More than one dose a day – Take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.
If you have any questions about this, check with your doctor.
Storage – To store Anavar:
Keep out of the reach of children.
Store away from heat and direct light.
Do not store the tablets in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in other damp places. Heat or moisture may cause the medicine to break down.
Do not keep outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed. Be sure that any discarded medicine is out of the reach of children.
Anavar Side effects:
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects.
In rare cases, serious and even fatal cases of liver problems have developed during treatment with oxandrolone. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience abdominal pain, light colored stools, dark colored urine, unusual fatigue, nausea or vomiting, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. These may be early signs of liver problems.
If you experience any of the following serious side effects, contact your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical attention:
An allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives); swelling of the arms or legs (especially ankles); frequent or persistent erections, or breast tenderness or enlargement (male patients); or voice changes (hoarseness, deepening), hair loss, facial hair growth, clitoral enlargement, or menstrual irregularities (female patients).
Other less serious side effects may also occur. Talk to your doctor if you experience:
New or worsening acne; difficulty sleeping; headache; or changes in sexual desire.
